We’ve all discovered cool cafés on Instagram or somewhere online and thought, “We should definitely go there sometime.” Then, when it’s actually time to grab a coffee, the same question comes up: Where should we go? 😅

That simple problem is exactly where CafeRo started.

I built CafeRo as a place where people can discover cafés, explore useful information about them, and find a spot that actually matches what they’re looking for. 🧡

CafeRo is designed to make discovering and choosing cafés easier.

Users can browse, search, and filter cafés, then explore their photos, location, price range, amenities, ratings, and real user experiences before deciding where to go.

🗺️ Information That Actually Helps You Choose

I didn’t want CafeRo to be just another directory showing a café’s name and address.

Each café can include useful details such as photos, geographic location, price range, features and amenities, contact information, user ratings, reviews, strengths, and areas for improvement.

The goal is simple: give users enough meaningful information to confidently decide whether a café is right for them.

👥 Built Around Community Contributions

One of the key ideas behind CafeRo is allowing the community to help make the platform better.

Users can suggest new cafés and provide their information, photos, features, and exact location on the map. Submitted cafés go through a review process before being published. ✅

Users can also rate cafés, write reviews, save their favorites, and manage their own contributions through their profile.

🛠️ Behind CafeRo

CafeRo is a full-stack web application built with Next.js, and I wanted its foundation to be just as solid as its interface.

The project is built with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, SWR, Prisma, and PostgreSQL, with Motion used for polished interactions and animations. ⚡

Location-based features and interactive maps are also integrated into the experience, allowing café locations to be represented as actual geographic points rather than just text addresses. 🗺️

🎨 Designed With the Details in Mind

UI and UX have been a major part of CafeRo from the beginning.

I wanted the product to have its own personality — from the warm visual language and signature orange accents to café cards, galleries, filters, forms, profiles, and the small interactions users encounter throughout the experience. ✨

The interface is also designed to remain clean, responsive, and easy to use across different screen sizes.

🚀 And This Is Just the Beginning...

CafeRo isn’t something I built just to have another project in my portfolio.

It’s a product I want to keep improving with real cafés, better data, community contributions, and new features over time.

It started with cafés in Tehran, with one simple goal: making the question “Which café should we go to?” a little easier to answer. ☕📍
